Zilin heeft een LLM in internationaal privaatrecht van China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), het onderwerp van haar masterproef is "Research on the Application of UNIDROIT Principles in International Commercial Arbitration".
Ze was zelfstandig onderzoeker bij het International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) en de Haagse Academie voor Internationaal Recht (THAIL). Ze liep ook juridische stage bij de Haagse Conferentie voor Internationaal Privaatrecht (HCCH) en werkte aan het 2019 Judgments Convention en het 2005 Choice of Court Agreement Convention. Ze is sinds twee jaar een erkend PRC-advocaat in Peking.
Nu is ze een PhD-student aan de Wuhan University.
